Be therefore very prudent not to confound your puppy. There are two strategies for the undesirable behaviors – to tell “None” firmly to your puppy, and/or to ignore the behavior completely. For the offenders of the “repetition”, the ignoramus method works best, as it is possible that your puppy will interpret the attention (even you that say “None” to him) like a reward for the behavior.
Conversely, of course, the good behaviors should immediately be rewarded (either with the candies or merely with a lot of attention and agitation – to say the “Good boy” in a tone very positive of voice, and to caress your dog at the same time is often as well as received well like candies is). This type of positive backing will result in a good behaved the adult dog who is a member estimated of the family and the community to large.
The method of the positive backing can be used also in potty that forms the new puppy. To teach a puppy to use an unique surface as gravel or the asphalt is a good technique. The theory is that the puppy will associate this surface with active potty, and is arranged therefore little to use other surfaces (like your kitchen carpet for example) like a potty. A lot of puppies can, with a small patience, is formed comfortably to use the same stain for toileting.
